Arse-Bandits

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

They did it. Blind robbery in broad daylight. Arsenal stole it away from us. 120 minutes of sitting on their goalline with their fingers crossed. 120 minutes of total and utter domination by the men in black. 120 minutes of pure genius by Rooney and Ronaldo. Scholes, I am sorry you didn’t score the penalty. You are still my favourite (current) player. Lehman was lucky. Rio, your first goal for United was not to be…

Arsenal may have the cup and medal, but they know they hung on by their teeth. And next season, when Ron and Roon are unleashed on them and the others, there will be no penalties to hide behind, no extra-time, no mercy.

If the F.A Cup proves anything, it is that the Force is with the Red Devils and next season, all pretenders to the throne will be exposed for what they are: second-string wannabes whose lucky streak has finally run out.

Adventures in Malaysia (Pt. 1: Back in PJ)

Made it back! After being stuck in Singapore for about 12 hours, I made it back. The one-hour flight to KLIA must have been the longest in my life.Long story short: I was bumped off my MAS flight and had to settle for an Air India flight back to KL (which was delayed two-hours).

The plane had to be one of the dodgiest I had ever seen! The seats were faded, the air conditioning was spitting out some kind of mist and the seatbelts were worn out (not that it would save me in a crash). The crew wasn’t exactly the most reassuring - they failed to latch the overhead compartments properly, handed out food before takeoff (during the taxi to the runway, interestingly enough) and didn’t bother to ask me to raise my seat to the upright position for takeoff/landing. I seriously thought I wasn’t going to make it home and considered bailing before we took off.

I persevered, and here I am. Back on the old haunting grounds. I’ve been sick, presumably from the weather change (hopefully not from Air India or Singapore airport air) and so have been sitting around at home for the past two days. Ran-into/called up some old buds: some are done with school, some are leaving to continue school and one is getting married. Talk about change!!

My head feels like it’s gonna explode, so I will end it here…more adventures from Malaysia coming soon!!

Narita Airport Blog

I am in Tokyo and thought it would be freakin cool to write a blog entry while I am here. Also, I haven’t done one in a while, being a PROcrastinator and all that…Fortunately for you, lack of sleep and killer back pain from sitting too long will make this short.

Seems to be lots going on around me right now. The Japanese hurrying about to their gates, the foreigners looking around for a good deal on an MP3 player or camera. I might hit one of the shower rooms or day rooms but it seems to be billed by the hour (about 350 Yen/hr) so I think I’ll give it a skip.

Haven’t seen any Harajuku girls yet (Damn you, Gwen Stefani for getting my hopes up!!). Anyway, I’d best be headed to my gate towards my 7 hour flight to Singapore and then KLIA. Yeehaaa!! More recycled air and cramped spaces…can’t wait!! I can smell home cooking already.

NEXT BLOG ENTRY LOCATION: MALAYSIA….
